More than I like to pay for a knife, but I had to have it. Five inches closed.

Apparently flourished around the 50s or 60s, according to the not much I could find on line.

Also the other bolster is stamped with a 12 instead of 16. Maybe it was made in 1612 or 1216!:D
Seems odd.

I like that the corkscrew has a full five turns.

Your knife was made by Agostino Tavella in Maniago, Italy, in the 1950s or 1960s as you originally thought. It is a nice example but unfortunately, someone has cut off the bolster "claws" at some point during its life. The claws were meant as shotgun shell extractors which were commonly found in 12 and 16 gauge as seen stamped on the bolsters. It is fairly common to see the claws cut off this style of knife since they would get hung up in a pocket. Enclosed is a picture of a similar Italian knife with the shell extractor bolster claws shown.

Rats.
Tried to link to Tennessee Ernie Ford's Shotgun Boogie.
Hank Thompson's cover seems to work.
