Seeing as I haven't actually made a knife in WAAAAY too long, it's a pretty big deal that I'm making myself a new EDC.

I got the blade forged out and profiled today and gave it a quick test etch to see what I had. This is my first Turkish twist billet ever and so far I'm pretty happy.

I'll post more once I get this one closer, but I wanted to give you guys a little teaser... :)

You make knives? :D Just kidding...very sweet looking! Can't wait to see the rest!!!

Look forward to seeing it! I've been hit and miss on shop time, trying to finish my sword and a couple of other little pieces. See ya' there!

That's horrible! Luckily you only live one state away from me so sending it on over to Ohio for proper burial won't cost you much shipping!:D
How'd you make out with your tapered tang? Is this it?
Matt

Nope, the tapered tang is another one. Because of the Turkish pattern, I was able to grind this one flat first so I don't have that worry here ;)

Thanks for the kind words folks. As I said, this was my first attempt at a Turkish twist, and while the overall yield was less than I had hoped for, the "good bit" turned out pretty well. I'm currently debating handle material for this one. It may be Mammoth (another first for me), or maybe G-Bone (this one is for me, I don't care what the collectors think :p ).

There will be more on this as I get it done. I'm trying to have it done in time for Ashokan...we'll see...

Looking good, I have got to get my shop finished and get back to work.

Now hurry up and finish it so we can see the final product!:D
