Scott finished two more JS test knives this past week - a Texas size bowie we're calling The Alamo and a tried and true Zulu. Both were forged from W2, dressed in desert ironwood, and given clay hamons.
The Alamo
Steel: W2
Finish: Hand-rubbed with clay hamon
Handle: Desert Ironwood
Overall Length: 16 3/4 inches
Blade Length: 11 1/4 inches
The Zulu
Steel: W2
Finish: Hand-rubbed with clay hamon
Handle: Desert Ironwood
Overall Length: 9 3/4 inches
Blade Length: 4 3/4 inches
Scott's still working on a couple more, but the tension level has gone down drastically now that he has five knives under his belt . . . although the butterflies have increased
To see all five he's completed so far you can visit The Road to San Antonio. Hopefully I'll have at least one more knife to photo next week and then we'll decide which five make the cut for journeyman testing.
Let us know what you think, and thanks for looking!
