I am guessing that seeing YET another Thank You Thread may not come as a surprise - I always love reading them because it always highlights the fact that traditionals is such a special place.

I have two special people to thank here, Bob ( bigbiscuit ) and Paul ( Paulhilborn), now theres just no need to go any further and explain to you just how fine these two Gentleman are..... but i will anyway :D...

I started talking to Bob a wee while ago, and I am so glad I did - because he is such a fine chap, Bob has a scrap on his hands right now - and with his attitude and back-up of his lovely Lady it sounds like the outcome will be good. Well I received a package a few days ago, and I thought Oh my ....its my HJ that has been lost for a wee while - ( as my friend Mike and I did a deal on a HJ - and a Lovely HJ at that, but it seems as though a postal worker may have liked it more than me?:( ) so I was elated in seeing this wee box waiting for me, I grabbed it but saw a USA address - so I thought....mmmm ok, whats going on here........

Now I have said this before, and I say it again, ...receiving a knife as a gift just blows me away - I get a bit silly and I have to admit tears come to my eyes - but this one really shook me, Bob - being a bit naughty saw this HJ and said he thought of me instantly - and to me that is simply amazing and humbling, you would laugh as I am finding this hard typing this...I just dont know why, but both Paul and Bob have thought of me and delivered two absolute beautiful knives....
Bob Sir- a massive THANK YOU my friend for thinking of me when you saw this Superb NEW YORK KNIFE Co WALDEN HJ, this knife is simply gorgeous and somehow fate has made a loss be replaced with a beautiful gift.
The Bone on this knife is fantastic, long pull, Swedges, Bone to die for, W&T like a brand new knife - Oh man this is a simply beautiful knife. Someone has used this knife, but obviously lovingly cared for it - it was a much desired and special addition to whom ever owned it previously, and it again is a much appreciated part of my beloved HJ Collection....

Once again Bob, the most sincere thanks for this lovey HJ, I really love this beauty!:thumbup:

Mr Paul Hilborn, as we know Paul has touched base with several people here in Traditionals - and gifted MANY knives - he has gifted me MANY knives personally - I am astounded by his generosity - in fact he and Jack had better look at their linage as I am sure there must be a link between them :D
So Paul and I pm each other a lot about the TC world, and the HJ world - both Paul and I feel such an attraction to the HJ's as well as the TC's, ....I have been somewhat held back from being able to keep up with the TC releases, Paul VERY kindly has been acting as a USA agent for me to receive my knives, and then ship them over to me when a box starts to fill up :o, well, Paul took the initiative to order me a Scratted Bone TC - I think this TC is one of the very special patterns to pick from a near impossible TC range to choose which is best - but this knife was included in a box full oF lovely knives, and OH man....I am thinking that Charlie smashed a home run with this one - which is easy to say because he has bought the team home each time he steps up to the base - but this one is a record hit - and Paul....your catching skills in being able to secure this absolute Champion knife has me once again sitting back and just trying to take in the sight on my desk, and all the thoughts of kindness that come with such a supreme knife - Paul - THANK YOU for my Scratted Bone TC - My friend a true act of kindness leaves me stunned - thank you so very much for this..............
Wow.....

Thank you two great guys for your most fantastic choice in Steel and thoughts.

Gifts from some of the best guys on here Duncan, Bob told me he was sending a HJ to you since you collected them and I wasn't even surprised at his generosity anymore. :D That Harness Jack is a really nice one. Jigged bone and cut swedge with LP~
Amazing scratted as well from Paul! One of the best TC's imo.

Congrats. Sounds like it found a good home. Was generous of bigbiscuit and Paulhilborn.

Glad you like that Ancient, Duncan! And what a great gift! NYK made them like they should be made!
You have been favoured by people who make this forum great!

Duncan, Bob's HJ is AMAZING, the gorgeous bone...I said GORGEOUS right? Stunningly gorgeous, a timeless, ageless gem of a knife...BOB, Very generous buddy...I really fall short when it comes to talking to you more often Bob...I'll try to amend that.

To the fine folks here on the porch, I've said this before and will say again...all I'm doing is trying to repay Duncan for his LEGENDARY kindness as he gifts me MANY MANY knives...I have a long way to go to even come close to what I owe Duncan. This could be said about many other members here that have gifted me priceless knives...Marcus Arelius, aka Markesharp, Rob, aka Primble, Brad, aka Coolio, AntDog, Jeff, aka Black Mamba, Duane, aka sitflyer and of course Jack....I have work to do when it comes to reciprocating their very gracious gifts to me. I also apologize as I'm sure I missed others from the list....great, generosity here.

I'm just very happy to be part of this fine group of people:cool::thumbup:

Congrats! I'm constantly floored by the generosity displayed here. Paul sent me a knife simply because I mentioned that I might need to look into them further.
I've been a long time SAK skeptic, but the knife Paul sent me made me a believer. Seriously, it's just so handy to turn a screw here, open a can there, etc.
Anyhow, congrats, and I love to see the generosity displayed here!

Fantastic knives, a wonderful thread, three very special guys, a great Sunday morning read :) Fantastic stuff fellers

Duncan my friend, you're very welcome. I have to say that Duncan called me for the first time yesterday and we talked for a good while. I felt like I was talking to an old friend. Duncan is just that kind of person. I truly enjoyed our conversation and look forward to more in the future. Gifting that HJ was very easy and I really did immediately think of Duncan and his fine collection of HJ's. I hope you had a fine meal with your family on your Father's Day. :D:thumbup:

Those are two awesome knives from two awesome people Duncan! Paul and Bob, well done and I'm so happy to have you as friends.

Traditional forum goodness at its best! Three classy gentlemen!!!:thumbup::thumbup: :D:D:D

Doesn't get any better than that Duncan! Nice job Bob and Paul.:thumbup:

Everyone knows I love the Scratted bone TC's, but, that NYKC HJ is strikingly beautiful !!! Great going guys !!

I can relate here. Just a bit though, not too much. I've had traditional knives my whole life, but never really gave them much praise or consideration until I stepped in here a few months ago. Now I don't have the high class, high prices ones like many others her. In fact, I really can't afford them (well except maybe one a year). But I love to look and read what people say about them. I hope one day to have such finely made (and talked about) so I can relate with the rest of you.
In speaking on the generosity here amongst you all, I can share this small story.
I have been really itching to get a GEC #99 Farmer Lock (which we all know are not available on the primary market, and rare on the secondary). I wanted one in maroon micarta but last week I realized any Farmer Lock would do. I just needed to scratch that itch. Well, I was frustrated and finally got proactive in my search. I posted in the want to buy thread and modified my sig in the hopes someone would step up and give me the opportunity to finally get one.
Who stepped up, BIGBISCUIT of course. He PMd me he had a maroon one that I could not (and as a knife nut, should never) refuse.
A maroon micarta Farmer Lock should be here on Tuesday.
So, I can relate that there are some awesomely generous and friendly people.
Thanks Bob!!!

Great stories and ode to the gift givers, Bob and Paul. That is truly a beautiful harness jack and in such great condition, Duncan. One to cherish for a lifetime. The scratted bone TC looks great and is another thoughtful gift.

This place is filed with great friends, sometimes I drift of to other places here but when I need to be grounded I come back here, these fine gentleman rocking on the porch have shown their generosity to many, myself included.

The knowledge, the camaraderie, the long distance and long term friendships endure here and That's a testament to the members and mods here. It's a safe haven where I come when I forget that the world's not solely inhabited by the not so nice people.

Duncan you give so much yourself, you contribute in so many ways, stories, pictures, just being you elicits the generosity of the friends you've made and have yet to make. You well deserve the gifts you get and I wish you many more in the future my friend. :)

To quote a friend of mine from last night, "...this place is (expletive deleted) awesome" thanks the Front Porch I'd appreciated.
