If you attended the Fall Beckerhead gathering and partook of the heavenly beef, then you owe a hearty thanks to John Stitt and Ka-Bar.
With Moose guiding logistics, Ka-Bar paid for half a cow to make its way from Steve Johnson's ranch in Nebraska to Half Moon Ridge, TN.
Cooked to perfection by John Becker and served up by Ethan Becker, the results were amazing.
Thank you all from the top, middle, and bottom of my stomach.

Adding my voice to the chorus:

Thanks so much to both John and Ka-Bar! As it turns out, 1/2 cow is the perfect gift. :)

Also Thanks to Ethan and John Becker for their expertise and dedication to filling hungry stomachs.

Amen. Twas a wonderful weekend, with wonderful food, and all thanks to Ka-Bar. Much appreciation, you have earned a customer for life.

An excellent time it was! My woman and myself were made to feel very welcome, never having to want or need for anything. To ALL involved THANK YOU! It was a very great time for learning, bonding and making new friends. I definitely recommend this! Ka-Bar mucho thanks!

Learned enough from Mr. Fisk to make it worth the trip. Add in the outstanding food, gracious hospitality and fine fellowship and it was just an incredible weekend. Thanks so much to everyone that contributed. We loved it.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I didn't start eating again until lunch on Monday. Have to agree that Ka-Bar knows how to treat their customers!

It would take a poet to describe how good that beef was. John's 32 (or was it 320?) spice rub made the perfect crust and the steak just melted in your mouth.

No knives for a while thanks to you Hawk. I'm leaving Thursday for four days in the woods and Mrs. T is going gun shopping.

Welcome to the club trade hawk tends to get all of his friends in trouble with our wives or he tends to cost us lots of money. but no better friend to have in the world.

Mrs. Trade here. I want to say thanks to Brian for letting me shoot the Glock. I'm going shopping.

John had 4 different rubs on there, one for each of the 12.5 pound chunks. one was coffee based even - my favorite...

unbeknownst to most, John and I spend some time at the secret house base putting the rub on those things, and prepping other things.

Those pieces of meat were FATTY too, John spent a lot of time removing a lot of surface fat (for later rendering - nothing goes to waste with him), and got those puppies ready for the rub. heck, he even damaged himself for y'alls pleasure, just to get that out there, now that's dedication :)

3 cheers for John! hurrah hurrah hurrah!

also, Megan, she makes some damn fine sauces and that great green veggie thing - chimmichurrah rah rah rah :)

Amen to this. Megan is a winner all the way around. Her biscuits were the bomb too. Damn. I'm hungry now.

I did not realize she made either, but both were outstanding! Kudos and thanks to Megan.

Absolutely, the food was outstanding! It actually sounds like an insult just to call it all food. I never got to thank John and Megan for their preparations. If y'all are reading this, THANK YOU!

A few more shots of that spectacular chow-
