Just wanted to give a thanks to Cold Steel for threading the needle and producing well made, reasonably priced folding knives with good steel and objectively the most secure lock on the market. Not naming names but doing such a thing is apparently increasingly impossible. You either have a well made product that is massively overpriced, or massively overpriced garbage with gummy steel and a bum lock. Well done. FWIW I myself am an American Lawman fan.

While there are other great knife companies out there, Cold Steel does seem to give the best value for hard working knives. Especially since they've been using the triad locks and supreme steel/heat treat. It's impressive.

They will get my thanks when they quit fooling around and make sheaths that don't dull my edges in a day.

Yes they have a knife or two in my top five or six work knives but they are folders that I have heavily modified.

I agree with the OP... however, I'd like to see them make fewer weapon knives and more utility knives. The runaway success of the Tuff Lite and Mini Tuff Lite should tell them something. There doesn't seem to be an offering with a 3" blade, which is what a LOT of people prefer. There's 3.5"+ and there's the Tuff Lites.

I like my Tuff Lite, and I think it's my most comfortable knife in the hand, regardless of size. That's really saying something, for a $25 knife. I wish it was offered with a different blade shape. I'm finding I don't like Wharncliffes as well as I thought I would. I'm REALLY liking these 2.5-3.25" knives with forward choils and really comfortable grips: Spyderco Native, CRKT Pilar.

I was ready to order the Pro-Lite, but just couldn't settle for the Rc 55 4116 Krupp steel it's made from.

My favorite CS knife so far is the Ultimate Hunter. A beast of a knife that is EDC friendly!

I think Cold Steel is unique in their offerings. I have branched out now to include some Spyderco's too, however it seems like all their blades are Lilliputian, 2-3 " blades are what I consider a pocket knife. I guess most OP prefer that size but I know CS sells a s***load of the L/XL type. Most of mine are L or XL. Their martial products put CS on the map and continues to do so(just look at their very first offerings)and I love them if they keep CS going.
