I'd like to make this post to share my latest acquisition and publicly thank the guy who so generously gifted it to me.
About a week ago, sitflyer PM'd me and asked for my address, saying he had something he wanted to share with me. Well, his package arrived today and it contained this beauty:
As it turns out, I had complimented Duane on this knife in the "what are you carrying" thread. As his thoughtful letter explained, the knife came into his care as a badly abused Kutmaster TL-29. Duane disassembled it, removed the unusable screwdriver blade and messed up spring, made it all nice and purty, and put some beautiful Shedua wood covers on it.
This knife punches a lot of my buttons - spear point, wood, half stops, and an opening snap that is crisp and loud.
Included in the package were also a couple cool coins from the Bahamas and Dutch Antilles. Apparently, I'm developing a Bladeforums international coin collection, too.
I'd like to thank Duane for this unexpected kindness. Here I am, having never met this guy in person, and he up and sends me a knife that he put so much time and care in. This kind of sharing is what makes this place so great.
