OK, whats a good gadget/ product you've been exposed to because of this forum. Most people wouldn't know about fatboys, or mission wallets, or even space pens if it wern't for a site like this. So whats the best stuff that you've aquired because of this place? Maybe a list could be formed of the most swank, forum prefered stuff.

I had my eye on a Maxpedition fatboy for a while, but wasn't sure about whether to outlay the hard earned dollars on one until I saw a review of the item on this forum about a month ago, with everyone's ideas on what to carry in it, and realised that this was EXACTLY what I wanted for an urban walkabout bag.

Promptly ordered one from the Australian dealer (Crossfire), it arrived this week, and I am extremely pleased with both the quality and design.

Looks like it will last for years!

Cost of $US60, coverted to $AU plus S/H= $AU99. Not the cheapest on the market, but definitely the coolest.

And, yes, I bought a Fisher space pen especially for the fatboy carry too! :)

Having a great time working out what to load in it for various urban survival scenarios.

spydercos
SAKs
benchmades

cross ion
rotrings
inovas

sharpeners

the opalec is anLED "bulb" that replaces the regular bulb...you batteries will last up to 5x longer....at the time, the opalec was the in thing...still very good but other drop in's have come along that i think are better: terralux....badboy...or even a complete flashlight like the minimag but w/ a BRIGHT Led (the streamlight luxeon junior for about $24 or UK 4AA led for @ $20 at

www.brightguy.com)

I personally like my Opalec better then my Terralux (Edit: MiniStar2)

Edit: I mean the MiniStar2. Just noticed the MiniStar1 (4x3mm LED), looks interesting!

I keep seeing all these posts that mention Fisher Space Pens. Why are they such a big deal? Do they do something better than any other pen or are they just one of those cool things that everyone has to have until something cooler comes along.

I was in a shop last week that sold them but I was in a hurry and didn't have time to play with it. What's so good about them that will make me spend the money?

The Fisher Space Pens will write in extreme heat or cold. You can write at odd angles or upside down. You can even write in zero gravity and underwater. Is that enough reasons? :D ;)

Paul

Oh yeah, back to the topic of this thread....

Fisher Bullet Pen
Arc AAA
Inova lights
...and a whole bunch of things I have yet tp pick up.
