After being in a funk for a few months I have finally started to get a few knives together. All three were hand forged. The top knife has a 5160 blade that is 4 1/2", iron fitting, and a dyed figured oak handle. Middle one has a 5 1/2" Bruno 1095 blade, iron fittings and a kingwood handle. Bottom one has a 7" 5160 blade, iron fittings and a curly maple handle.

Sweet, Raymond! You broke out of the funk in fine fashion. I am absolutely smitten with that middle piece. :)

Thats the first threesome with multiple pointy objects i've ever wanted to have anything to do with. :D

Ray,

I've missed seeing your recent work posts so much that I almost sent you an email.

I'd love to see some closer pics of all of the knives, especially the dagger.

I really enjoy seeing what you will come up with next.

Welcome back! I missed you at Blade Show this year...

I finally figured out what the main cause of my funk was. For the last 3 years I did Blade. This year I didn't. Normally I'm making knives getting ready for the show. I did manage to go fishing at Dragon Lake, BC. 8 days of catching the largest rainbow trout I had ever seen. GREAT TRIP!

Here's some individual shots. I had a senior moment when trying to remember what steel I used with the little dagger. Its not 5160. Its steel a friend had sent me. It was part of a mechanical device used to lift a bell up in a 500 year old bell tower in Belgium. Not high in carbon but did harden up in oil.

Dang Raymond, According to the way your knives look I must stay in a funk. If 8 days of trout fishing is what it takes to make knives like that I'll take about 10 or 12 days. Great looking knives.

Day-yum Ray, I love your work !! All of them are simply beautiful but that dagger is off the shelf

FWIW, the winter was entirely wayyyy too long up here and I got into one of those "funks" too.......I can relate brother ;) Its all good now that the sun has finally come back strong :D Ol Man Winter is still trying to hang on though, it was 34* here this morn

David, Sunshine would be nice. Our low temps aren't as cold as yours, 47 in the shop yesterday morning. I should still be wearing my thermal coveralls in the morning but hate wearing winter wear in the spring. Summer arrives here sometime after July 4th. Temps have been a good 10 degrees cooler than normal so far.
