A Ti Salsa Review

was looking about buying a salsa, but didn't want to pay so much for the titanium version, but it seems to be much nicer then the standard aluminum one

The compression lock operates on a different principal than the frame lock version of the liner lock. In the compression lock, the lock is compressed between the blade tang and the stop pin. The force is trapped in that small area.

In the frame lock version of the liner lock, the force is transmitted back through the frame. The two dedsigns share the liner as a spring, but the function is not the same.

Knife forums sure has turned into a very nice forum. Kudos to the new group.
