A Tibetan sword

Hey! There's an L.B. engraved at the hilt! Bura _has_ been around a long time hasn't he? ;)

This blade was not made by Tibetans. The pattern is completely wrong. The shape and tip are corrrect.

I suspect the blade is Chinese. Nice pattern welding, but NOT Tibetan.

Tibet is a high country with little fuel for forges. The Tibetan pattern is very distinctive and called "hairpin."

Will post some pictures later. Got to run now.

Tibetans have a very distinctive pattern to their blades called "hairpin." Note the pronounced lines.

They also have less interest in getting their blades polished than the Chinese and the Japanese (who are REALLY into polish)

Tibetans only care if it is sharp and will chop an enemy. You can see grind marks on the Tibetan sword and this is a very good sword. Lesser swords would show worse marks. The dagger is a little better finished.
