My grandson Lil Lane is headed for Childrens hospital. Apparently he has a blockage in his digestive tract which isn't allowing food to get to his tummy. They plan to do surgery Today, keep him over night and hopefully he can come home tomorrow.

I'm sure he's gonna be just fine, I'm questionable and I'm sure grandma and his momma are both basket case's.

Never hurts to have a little insurance from folks here, we've seen it work before and it will work again.

I'll keep you posted.

On the plus side we get a sleep over with the granddaughter which is always a good time.
She's two and calls me Ta Ta??? I have no idea where that came from or what it means or what's going on in her little head but Ta Ta it is.

Thanks.

If there's one thing little boys are good at, it's gobbling down food. Solid, liquid, animal, vegetable, mineral. He probably chomped on too much mineral.

They'll straighten that out. Before you know it, he'll be a teenager, and his parents will have to put in an extra refrigerator to keep up with his appetite.

You might start saving now to help them with the food bills. :D

He arrived at 10lb's 6 ounces but he's only a bit over 3 weeks old so not too much gobbling yet.
I'm sure his gobbling time will come without doubt. I had a couple gobblers myself so kind of know what they are in store for.

Fun times.

You know we don't do anything "tiny" around these parts.

Huge amounts of Smoke and prayers for the little one Mr. B!

I'm sure he's as tough as dad and grandpa, he'll be just fine.

Smoke and prayers for the big little guy (and his family)
That's a good hospital, they know what they're doing there.

Smoke up.

My nephew had the same issue when he was a wee sprat. A bit of minor surgery, a tiny scar on his belly, and 18 years later we have a 6'3 bean pole proudly heading off to the Marines when he graduates this spring.

Very common. Very routine. Insurance smoke up for mom, dad, and grandparents' peace of mind.

Smoke sent. I have friends who went through a very similar thing and while scary all turned out great. I'm sure all will be fine.

running late so will hope things went well and send up smoke and prayers it resolved it all and he heals up quickly and healthy

He'll be okay...kids are tougher than you'd think at that age and super resilient...

adults on the other hand....

Thank you folks. Update- they didn't do anything last night as we'd hoped. They are doing something to his heart this morning, a murmur or something, they say quite common and not a big deal and then the surgery to fix the blockage which sounds fairly common as well.
I've learned nothing happens quickly in a hospital or anything where doctors are concerned, except billing of course.
Now they will have spend another night at the hospital if they actually do the stuff today.

On the bright side I got to sleep with 2 girls last night, it was cold and the granddaughter didn't want to go to sleep so she ended up in our bed. Not a bad thing if you don't apply gutter, pervert, el sicko connotations to the story line.

Another evening playing with the granddaughter and I get to leave early from work tomorrow as the wife has an interview so not all bad. Don't tell the docs about this, probably send me a bill for it too.
