I needed a couple of sheaths for sharpfingers, pre-Christmas hunting gifts for my teens. Naturally, I went to SchradeBay and nabbed a trio for a small fee. Shipping cost as much as the three Buy-It-Now sheaths. Well and good, but I got them in today and they are rejects.
Now, I knew they were unfinished, undyed, but I feel competent to dye natural leather. They were rejected because the handle securing straps have the snaps set too closely to wrap the handles and snap.
I'm going to try chinee water torture on them in an attempt to stretch them, and we shall see what we shall see. Failing that, off to Paul in Tejas they go for new straps (and pro leather dye and oil treatment).
I just thought ya'll (youse guys) might want a heads up if you are considering buying the same undyed sheaths.
