Hello to our great Traditional Forum members, and to the people who pop in just now and then to this great place.

From memory? I posted a Thread with pretty much to same as this last year, please forgive me because I am repeating old habits I guess.

I want to take a little time out and say thank you to all of you here, as we keep repeating ...... "this is such a great place", ....
its because of one thing -You!
Its been a very hard year, not only for myself with different things going on, but with our jobs and the way of the recession and its effect throughout, thankfully I am here to still enjoy my massive obsession, passion or need (for the want of a better word )- the world of Traditional knives.

I want very much to name each and every one of the people here who have touched my life, but I am extremely scared of leaving just one name out-not that name doesnt have importance, its the way my mind files certain things :o
I do feel the need however to thank Charlie, this man has done what I dream of doing, he has awoken the Traditional Knife thirst by spending what must have seemed an eternity with each knife's concept with GEC, and now we have Beautiful HJ'S that will live for yet another 100 plus years, we now have the Barlow that has blown my socks off - even though I missed out on the ordering...I will hopefully one-day be lucky enough to own one.
This Barlow in my opinion is one of the better ones, and its birth having derived from some outstanding models of yesteryears fantastic old samples of highly collectable Barlows - this -and one mans passion and burning incentive to make it live again - and boy am I glad this has happened.... Charlie, thank you, Im sure EVERYONE will agree with me on this one.

Gary, Frank seem to have taken over the controls well - in fact very well so thank you guys!, I hope Gus, and Elliot are enjoying their "new" lease of life.

Other members, who I have had the pure pleasure with dealing in knife sales, information - or basically exchanging pleasantries ... all these experiences want me to meet you, and one day I hope I do.

Heres just an example..recently I wanted to buy a knife on the "Traditional slippies for sale" thread, ..the seller wasnt going to send overseas-which is fine, he had his reasons ... Brad ( ptradeco ) stepped in- bought the knife...and said he will send it on to me..now guys and gals...isnt that alone an outstanding act of generosity of going out of your way for someone?...Brad - thank you! thank you so much.

I guess what I am saying is nothing different as to what all of the overseas members here would say who cant get to meetings such as Blade., and what I am trying to say is everybody here...THANK YOU, and MERRY CHRISTMAS, I hope that your Christmas is filled with family and just plain old good times and togetherness.
Merry Christmas my friends, from Duncan and Sue, in New Zealand

Merry Christmas to you and Sue and family. May it be an extra special first Christmas together.

From just west of the east Island .I will be on shift Xmas Eve and (penalty) Xmas night.
Still, a day at my sisters in the pool with the kids and family sounds fairly good.
All the best and a merry Christmas to you .

Duncan and Sue, I hope you all have a great Christmas and that the new year is kind to you.

For all the rest here, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and new year as well. This place is special because of all of you.

Carl.

A very Merry Christmas to you and the missus and all the family Duncan, and the same to everyone here, people who through their warmth and generosity of spirit, I’ve come to regard as dear friends. I know it’s been a difficult year for many of us, and for me, the Traditional area of Bladeforums has been a place of sanctuary, where I greatly appreciate being made to feel welcome, and where people are kind and respectful to each other in a way that doesn’t always happen everywhere else. A big thank you to all of you here, it’s a pleasure to be among you, to hear a little bit about your lives, to share in your adventures, and to celebrate our shared passion for a simple, timeless tool, made beautiful. Once again, wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Jack
