A tribute to Buck knives (the people)!

This may take a little telling, but here goes. Several weeks ago I ordered two special 110's that were listed in the Buck sites web specials section. The knife (I ordered two of them) was shown and described as an ironwood handled 110 that came in a wooden display case. When the knives arrived, they were not what was shown or described. Nice, but not what I had been attracted to.

I contacted Buck via e-mail about it and received a call from Liz. She had investigated the situation and found that the listing had been in error. The wrong picture and description had been put on the site by accident. She then asked me to wait and she would see if any like the one's I had wanted were available. When she got back to me, she had found that they had one left in stock and would have it polished up and sent to me right away and that she would have UPS pick up the others from me at their expense. She was also refunding my full amount and recharging me just for the one.

I was happy with that, but then I was contacted by Phil Duckett, the COO at Buck. He told me that he had checked with the special projects manager and found that they had the materials to build me another just like the one I was getting and he had instructed them to build it and get it to Liz to send to me. By this time I was pretty wowed by all of it then there was more. Buck wanted me to keep the two that had been sent by mistake for my trouble!

I received both just a few days later and I am thrilled. Both came in the great, glass topped display case and are beautiful. Below are a couple of pictures of the one that was build special for me. I'm just knocked out by the beauty of the ironwood and because of that and the way that it came to be will make it a very special "CUSTOM" for me.

I just can't say enough good things about the Company and the people that make it what it is. I think I'm going to donate one of the knives (the first ones), maybe both, to a local SPCA fundraiser in Bucks name.

That is a great example of customer service. Thanks for sharing it. I bought my first Buck over 40 years ago and many Bucks since and have been a Buck fan ever since. It is very nice of you to donate the knife for a fundraiser. Have a great day.

I didn't mean to forget to mention that Joe Houser was also involved. Thanks to them all!

Dave, They did a super job on that scale. Truly exihibition grade ironwood.
I feel like you about having gotten a really special knife with my Elk 110.
Congrats on a really beautiful knife.

Indeed you did Gordon and I feel the same about my ironwood 110. The folks at Buck went above and beyond what I would have expected.

Man, what I wouldn't give to have one of my trap guns stocked with that stuff.
