Ladies and Gentlemen,

I refer in the title to none other than Mrs. Martino... I've not earned the "right" or "privilege" to address her any other way. I'm not sure I could ever address her any other way, even if offered.

I just spoke to her on a wee bit of business. I think this is the second time I've spoken with her. She is a true and genuine Lady. Soft spoken, precise, and with a grace that reminds one of the lovely Ladies of the South or New England... She would fit in anywhere she chose.

It's not enough to acquire one of the world's finest knives, or from the world's best Kamis or Sarkas. I believe I'll be buying my Khukuris to help Mrs. Martino, as well as selfishly getting more of my addiction... Best of all possible worlds- no?

Help beautiful Lady, and add to beautiful collection... Priceless, as the credit card commercial says... Now I know how YOU all feel. I wish I could have "known" Mr. Martino... He must have been great.

Anyway, it was a wonderful conversation, and I hope to have many more. Imagine- helping folks half a world away; helping Mrs. Martino; and getting more "functional art!" Yeah, priceless...

I hope you all have a great weekend, and remember, in indulging our "habits," we're helping a lot of people...

Take care, stay safe, and have fun...

One of these days I'll have to give Yangdu a call, and actually speak to her. I have emailed her many times of course, but when Uncle Bill was sick and asked that people not call during his illness, I kind of locked that in. It made outlining the details of some of our transactions more difficult, but I know it saved much stress on them at that difficult time and I was glad to do it.

I'll just call up and pretend to be a pushy junk-knife salesman and see how she reacts. ;) :D

In any case, I hope to meet her in person next May in Reno, at the next Khonvention.

Regards,

Norm

Mrs. Martino has a style and grace all her own, very different from that of her late husband's substantial personal qualities. We've entered a new era, and I feel her reassuring and peace making presence at the helm all about us.

I believe that calls should be carefully considered, however, as Yangdu is busy and involved in various aspects of her life.

I understand this every day; we are going to be OK. Himalayan Imports is heading into the future and our forum is too, and things are as they are supposed to be. I feel lucky having Yangdu around. Every time she answers a email with "Peace" a little more hope hits the munk brain.

Yes, indeed. She is.

Everybody get their Lady Yangdu Special (LYS) khuks?

Mine got here today, unusually slow mail. A Neem beauty with graceful lines. Pointy, with gentle curve. Sanded the wood and applied Ballistol. Voila, a beautiful grain appeared and the checkering lines became pronounced.

Unlike my perfect UB Salyan, hanging on my wall, this one is going to get used. They make a nice set, though. :D
