Every knife has a story, right? Anyway, one of my most unique knives was given to me by my older brother. He bought it for me in Mobile, Alabama when he was home, on leave from the USMC. This was about 1970. He had been a platoon leader in country, but got busted back to lance corporal right as he was to make E5..( for eating lunch in e5 area )...That is the story.
The knife is just a 10 inch block of wood that reads.Battleship, USS Alabama, Mobile, Alabama. When you pull the wood apart, you will see the 4 1/2 inch blade, with the words: stainless steel, Japan. There is a fish scaling blade on the spine. I had almost forgotten about this knife,( shame on me ), but, of course, it is among my most unique and sentimental pieces...and one of my oldest. Take Care, Rob
