Okay this is the first time using this wood, it's a very interesting handle material. This is stabilized Silver Vine, supposedly it comes from Mexico, I got it at the Vegas Knife Show in January.

Steel: S30V Hand Rubbed
Blade Length: 4"
Overall: 8.5"

Thanks for looking,
Sean

Very cool looking.

Are ther any voids or knots? What was the cost if you don't mind.

Sean I see you're still up to your old quality knife making tricks! Very nice knife indeed. How much of that stuff do you have? I'm considering whether to come and rob you. Just lemme know if it's worth my time and whether you keep this beautiful wood in a safe. Thanks.

It's nice to see you around, haven't heard from you in quite a while. For those of you who haven't had the chance to handle one of Sean's knives, I can attest that they are sharp, finely ground and perfectly polished. I got one in the 2004 KITH and still get it out in admiration from time to time.

Thanks very much for the comments guys.

I think I paid $25 per set of scales (they are stabilized). This was my first time using this stuff (I bought enough to do 6 knives) so can't really say how it works normally. This set of scales worked just fine and is not pitted at all. It's very interesting stuff to say the least. I'd say the top right pic is very close to the real colors, the pic is just a little dark. There is a great deal of variation in the scales. When I picked mine from his inventory I looked for quite a while before getting the ones I liked.

Dave - if you feel up to travelling the 5,000 odd miles to come steal some I'll just give it to ya as reward for such determination!
