I few weeks ago the Boss was out at at the ranch and invited my wife and I for dinner. As we were enjoying a couple of beers before dinner the conversation came around to knives. We talked about pocket knives for a bit then moved on to fixed blades. He said he had one to show me and a went to his bedroom to go get it. He brings back this Puma knife set that's in perfect condition. I ooh and aaa over it for a little bit and that was it. Time for dinner. It was a great dinner of 1 1/2" thick bone in ribeyes, homemade macaroni and cheese and sautéed spinach. As we were leaving he hands me the knives as tells me to keep them because I'll appreciate them more than his kids. I half-heartedly tried to refuse but he insisted. So here's the gift.

On a side note about this set, as far as I can, tell they were made in the first quarter of 1983. I was born in February of that year.

Wow, that's a nice set! And sounds like a great dinner too!

Congratulations! Thanks for sharing with photos. The generosity of knife givers is astounding. Pay it forward.

What an awesome set of Pumas.

Congratulations! Your boss is a very generous man.

That is a beautiful pile of stag, steel and leather reminiscent of FES! Nice gesture on the part of your boss.

Thanks for the comments. As well as being lucky to receive this gift, I'm also very lucky and thankful to have the job I do for the people I work for. They are very generous people who have been very good to us.

Ben, that is so awesome!!! Wow, just wow!!! I put bosses into two categories. One you'd like to put a bullet in and the other is one you'd take a bullet for.

Being a boss myself I shoot for the later :D I agree your a lucky man to work for the man you do and he apparently feels the same about you :thumbup::thumbup:

Great set of knives. I know he must value you as more than an employee. This is something that is being lost in the society we live in. Thanks for sharing.

Your boss sounds like the kind of boss you'd saddle up and ride for the brand.
