Well today has been a good package day and the USPO hasn't arrived yet...lol. Today's packages included two knives, a little Case Peanut, yellow with CV blades and a custom damascus jack with horn scales. I bought the Peanut after being overwhelmed with propaganda here in the forum...lol. I bowed down to the pressure and now my Barehead Trapper has someone to keep him company...

The other knife that arrived is a nice handmade Jack Knife with some really nice horn scales. The blade has a very positive half stop and more snap than you would think from the ease of opening. No nail nick but there is plenty of blade to pinch open. Nice file work on the back as well. It arrived with a belt pouch but is just the right size for carry in my jeans pocket with a closed size of 4 inches. The blade is a handy 3 5/8 inches. The curved handle is very comfortable in the hand, especially when held with my index finger on top of the blade for controlled cutting. The damascus pattern is wonderful looking with the blade made with high carbon steel 1075 and low carbon steel 4340...overall I am very happy with it especially for under $40.00.

And UPS just dropped by...the Spyderco Mule Team blade I ordered showed up and as I already owned some nice jigged impala scales and red fiber board I have a new project to keep me busy during these rainy days. I was expecting the blade to show up wrapped in cardboard but it came in a nice Spyderco box labeled with the model number of the knife.

It is a homemade custom...no name on the blade. I imagine it is someone who is buying blade blanks and putting the knife together and more than likely not in the US for the price. But the seller is based in the US and I decided it was worth the $40.00 to take a chance and I am glad I did...it is very nicely made and very handsome to boot.

Now, of course, I don't have anything to look forward to for a while tho. Maybe I could find just a small slippie so I can savor the anticipation.....mmmmm.... there is this Humpback Ka Bar on e-bay....

I have been carrying the same Case yellow pairing as you show above for the past few days. I am especially fond of the trapper, but the peanut is making my acquaintance as a neat little package, too.
