I picked up a nice Chambriard Campagnon folder off the forums a few days ago from draggat draggat who was kind enough to allow me to send a check, which he also is getting today. But within in his package sent, there was a second knife, quite lovely in itself and with juniper scales no less !!! I was flabbergasted to say the least and thanked him greatly for this gift, which also made me rethink the Perceval I had up for sale and will cancel that and actually try to have a French collection.

Thanks again Steve, quite the Halloween surprise for me,

Both look very elegant, but that juniper really impresses me. Great "eye" figure, and the color variation almost looks like an intentional design giving the impression of a bolster.

Wow, time really flies by! I've been a bit hit and miss on the forums this month due to other obligations, but just wanted to leave an update here to give thanks.

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought this post would fit here better.

I've been letting go of a few knives lately and when I put up that Chambriard, Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley jumped for the chance. A few years back, he started this thread https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/traditional-french-friday.1681854/ a Chambriard Le Thiers with juniper covers is the first post. He has long since let that knife go, but I had seen him lament for it more than a few times, not to mention he has written about his love of juniper.

The Cognet Le Thiers is one of my all time favorite French knives, and I figured Gary would definitely appreciate it with juniper, so in the box it went, along with the Chambriard.

This week, Gary sent me a gift, a beautiful slip sheath that he made, which fits the Cognet Le Thiers perfectly! Gary's work is outstanding, he truly is a master of leatherwork. My pictures don't do it the justice it deserves. He also included a keychain with a Celtic rune, the meaning which is gift.

Thank you Gary!! Truly a wonderful gift!!PXL_20221127_212508851~2.jpg
