Here are 10 pics of the finished piece. It is called Voodoo. The carved twist Damascus blade is 4.25 inches long, overall length opened is 10.25 inches. The crown stag antler resembles an old rotten log with Damascus snakes crawling thru Voodoo's body. There are also 2 snakes,albino, that are carved into the stag bolster as they crawl from underneath the log.
The face has 4 gold warts, red orange coral eyes, 14 k gold ( yellow and rose gold) tongues, 4 carved fossil walrus ivory teeth. It is complete with a carved ivory finger bone necklace with a birdskull talisman amulet, voodoo charm !
The pet raven he carries with him, is carved on a small tine of deer antler crown. The steel space is carved , textured and fileworked with carved mammoth ivory inlay and a little critter with sterling silver stripes. The display base is manzanita root burl wood on a Honduran rosewood base, with a Damascus steel snake. The inside features full filework with 3 fossil ivory blade stops and fileworked nickel silver liners.
This will be a lottery style draw item in San Antonio.
I've never offered a forged scroll folder with this theme which involves carved Damascus snakes. The snakes are repeated as a theme on the base. This is a very unique piece in this genre - the world of Gargoyles and imaginary creatures.
