a very rare MK I

This is the first MK I kukri I have ever seen that was marked with the standard British-Indian military marks. It is dated 1915. The other remarkable thing is that this is the standard pattern scabbard but without the ridge for a frog plus it has a pouch and spaces for a karda & chakmak. Everything is correct en suite with no later modifications.

Every version of the MK I that I have handled has had the threaded tang/slotted nut design.

The question about this particular one is how did a frog attachment work? It would have covered the pocket, but then the kukri in its scabbard was removed from the frog more than I previously thought.

Cheers John!

Well I have so many questians but I dont wish to barrage you with them all John! Or ther would be 5 or 6 for every photo you post!

I am after all an eager kukri student!
