A very special El Patron arrived today.

The blue tones of the ivory inlay go wonderfully with the stonewashed finish. Really, really nice. First one he has ever made like this.

Is the cut out in the blade for the stop pin to sit in when closed or is there some other purpose for it? I really like the knife for the most part but Im not sure I could get used to that unless there was a function for it. Regardless it looks very nice. How is the flip?

I think you are correct on the purpose of the cut out. Flipping is very good, strong detent and very nice action.
