Hello folks!

I was asked by a friend to post a picture of this very unique knife... The knife was made by Max Burnett... If you haven't had an opportunity to check out Max's work, please do so.... He forges an awesome blade, for a great price!

Here's the pic! I'll let Jake and Max tell you more about the knife.... Don't forget to tell'em the name, Jake!

Max and I call this one the Castrator. I sent him a sketch and he hammered it out. Its done in 5160 and etched in ferric chloride to enhance the hand forged look. The scales are some nylon filled synthetic Max came across and are tough as nails. I can't wait until this one gets here and I can play with it

OUCH! So exactly why did you name it that?

I wish the picture was a little clearer, but from what I can see that is a mighty fine looking knife.

Just how do you play with a castrator? I mean what sort of "games" is it good for?

We know that most sheep are castrated by mouth. Bigger animals need some sort of instrument, usually something with rubber bands. Do you play with rubber bands?

What do you do with the scroti? Could probably make some dynamite knife pouches!

I'm betting that Jake has at least one daughter, and he wants a knife called 'The Castrator' to show her boyfriends when they visit!

How close am I?

I got the Castrator in my hands a few minutes ago. I have to tell you, this is one WICKED S.O.B.. Max, you really did a great job. Any of you Forumites that haven't had some of Max's work in your hands have got to give it a try. His knives just feel like they belong in your hand. Thanks Max

Jake man!

Cong. on the new purchase!

Looks kinda- sissy knife - but you seem to like it... so...

Oops -just remembered - all my knives are going to you first...

Nice knife - nice Jake..

Max is currently learning Damscus under Bill Moran at the ABS bladesmith school in Washington Ark.Look for some awesome stuff from 'ol Maxie, I've got two of his
"blacksmith knives" on order

Yeah, I know Max is spending a good bit of time at the ABS school. Im excited to see what he does when he returns. He does some really awesome stuff now, imagine what his knives will be like after his school is done. I personally have 7 of Max's knives. My parents and in-laws each have one of his kitchen knives, and I also have two of Robert Oggs (Max's late step father) kitchen knives. Now I just have to think up the next project to hit him with when he returns

Okay, my memory doesn't exactly work right, and sometimes I dream stuff and think it's real, but here goes.....

Did I not hear that this might be Bill Moran's last hammer in at the school this coming weekend? I may be wrong about it, but it seems like I heard or read it someplace.
Anyways, that would be something, eh? Ol' Maxie'd enjoy the hell out of that I bet.

I have yet to see a piece of Max's that I haven't liked a whole lot. I even got his photopoint album bookmarked. He is a heck of a guy to boot. The Castrator, huh? My wife would love it.

The pattern looks a little like a Corvo (crow) a traditional Chilean knife.
