Hi folks.

I'm trying my hand at making some youtube videos.
This one is a quick look at the contents of my maxpedition proteus.

Whatcha think?

The dump pouch is a good idea. You can use it to hold a pair of 1/2 L bottles of water, then put your collapsable canteen in there if you needed to.

I would ditch the chocolate, it will just melt. Also, the prybar is probably just extra weight.

I looked at the Proteus, but it wasn't comfortable with my 1L SS canteen due to the weight. I ended up with a Fatboy Versipack Jumbo and it is PERFECT. It even has room for a tube tent (about 8.5 x 11). Not only does it hold everything I need, for a few days if needed, it is extremely comfortable even with a liter of water if.

Keep in mind that if you really do need to use the collapsable canteen with the water purification tablets, it will take hours to work, like 4 of them. A steel canteen is better because you can boil it over a fire for quicker clean water, if you aren't worried about chemicals in the water.

I didn't see if you had an emergency blanket or bivy sack? How about a knife sharpener? Sewing kit? Don't forget the diarrhea medicine, and benadryl if you have allergies. Speaking of, was there any first aid stuff?

Was that a Mora strapped to the side? If so, great knife!

Sorry for being all over the place, trying to take notes while I watched. Nice kit!

Cool kit and little pack bro, thanks for posting that. I had never seen those and now I want to pick up one for Lisa...maybe one for myself too :).

@ RatDrall:

This one has some stuff for around town too....hence the prybar, I need to add a screwdriver actually, but I've been trying to find a multi-bit one that's light weight.

lol yes the chocolate did melt this summer, but it's getting cool enough now it won't anymore. :D

I forgot to mention, i EDC a steel water bottle. It rides in the dump pouch if I'm wearing this pack.

This one actually, i could boil in it, but it would mess up the neat sticker :p

Lol watch the whole thing :p
Theres a heatsheats bivy, + a two person blanket. There is repair stuff, think I mentioned it but didn't show, it's in a little box at the bottom of the Misc side pocket: needles, thread and safety pins.

First aid kit includes stuff for boo-boos and to close moderately large cuts. Meds include benydryl, anti-diarrhea, and ibuprofen. I kinda want to bump up the First Aid coverage slightly, but I need a little add-on pouch to do it neatly.
