A Walk down the road

So I'm starting a blog thingy, I get asked once in a while through my wife about knife handles so I thought it'd be easier to send them there then try and have them navigate bladeforums, plus it gives me the chance to link to JK's website and such.

Anyway it's linked down there at the bottom of my sig line, I need a better title, if anyone's interested. I'm posting about this there as well as here, fyi, hence the tangent.

So today we went to a farm down the road where they raise alpaca's ad also produce a magazine called "All things country" for free to anyone who wants it (it's also where we go fishing :)). It was a pretty neat affair and the kids enjoyed the food and the barn painting and Sam really liked watching the Alpaca being sheared.

one colorful barm, eh?

Anyway later on int he day while Iris was sleeping Sam wanted to go on a walk, the grass is up and the snakes are out so we just decided to walk down the road, it's pretty scenic place to live so I'm normally content with it and Sam gets to rid his bike.

I happened to have some knives out and I was playing with them waiting for some boxes to finish up burning. After many a restless night I've finally started to take the trapline from unused to used status :)

I'm also carrying a Case Electricians knife because I seem to be unable to stick with the same folding knife for a whole day since taking my two favorites out of rotation for the purpose of "trying something new"....grumble grumble

made a stick pointy, always useful

discovered I love the grain on this iron wood

Made a good show of trying to copy Mr. Woods picture of his trapline :)

saw some cows

had some company to!

All in all a nice walk I though, thanks for checking it out

Looks like you and family had a nice day! Love the pics of the countryside:thumbup:
As for that Trapline, ironwood is some mighty fine stuff on a knife, and that one is a beauty!

Nice pics! Looks a whole lot better than where I am.

Love seeing that trapline as well. Really like that one.

Looks like a fun day. :)

Looking at your blog, I noticed the Boy Scout hatchet. I have a much older one in very bad shape that was actually mine when I was in the BSA. The leather sheath is shot. The edge is as dull as a 2X4 and the all wood handle needs to be refinished. I've decided to take that on as a project when I get a bit of time, including a new sheath (see? you did motivate me to do some leather work!). Should be fun. I'll take some pictures along the way. :)

thanks for the comments guys, saintlybress good luck be sure to share some of those picture :)

Thanks for sharing. The Trapline seems like a very usual
design. That might have to be my October JK knife..:)

FYI, its a pretty nice knife for just about everything :)
