It's good to see Spring surfacing everywhere...looks like a great place to enjoy a hot cup of Joe!

Great pics. It looks like your day was way warmer than mine. I started out like you wanting to have something hot to drink I chose coco though lol.
I used my pocket cooker for the first cup. I started the fire in the pocket stove and then once I had some good flame going I put my pot on the fire no pic of that.

We had temps in the 60s on thursday here in south east Neb. and things were starting to dry up from winters snow that we have had over the last few months.

Then Friday it started raining and then switched to snow YUCK. The temps dropped and a north wind came up and it was in the low 30s and chilly this morning.
As I was heading down in to the timber for some fun at my campsite area
( a Tarped shelter spot I have),

My dog Kelly Girl and I walked through a little snow by the creek we were following.

To get to my campsite area you have to cross the creek. I use this log to get over to the other side.

I took this pic while I was crossing over on that log. Deffently not a good time to slip lol. Maybe Bear Grills has to get into every freaking bit of water he comes across, but not this boy.

At one point Kelly Girl came in to sit and visit.

Ok Ok I will tell the truth she really came in because I was eating some beef Jerky lol.

I like your choice of cutting tools there is nothing like having a Axe and a knife.

I brought along today my GB Hunter Axe and then my Elk antler Kephart pattern knife I made, plus I keep a hand saw down at my campsite.

After my first cup of hot coco I did take the embers out of me pocket cooker and dropped them in to the fire pit I have and then built up a bigger fire and melted some more snow so I could make so more hot coco.

Skog Nniv, They say great minds think alike lol.
Having a hot drink on a Saturday morning is just a great way to start the day.

I really like your thinking Skog Kniv.

Awesome photos guys, looks like a great saturday morning!

Interesting contrast too.

What's a matter Bryan...scared of a little icy cold water :D

SkogKniv, you may wish you were in Norway, but it looks awfully nice where you are. Great pictures and thanks for sharing.

Bryan, glad you got out to enjoy the day. What's that white stuff on the ground? We had just a touch of that in the last couple of months, but it didn't last long enough to determine what it was.

Doc

kuRupTD, Thanks. I do to lol.

Mistwalker, No not really scared, bit not really interested in getting in ice cold water either:D. Bear do that junk lol.

Thanks Ken, It sound and looks like you a great morning as well. I read about yours over at Bushcraft USA:D

Doc, I tell ya I am so sick of that white stuff:mad:. If I could I would move to the south west so I did not see any of it for a few years at least anyways that would be just fine with me:D:D.

Looks great Skogkniv. Ready for the April trip in NY? Should be a great time. Wish more folks would pony up and get outside for it.

Well there he is:eek:

You been quite bub. Yeah I am heading up there next week to pick our spot out. Got a buddy coming as well. Adventure Sworn;)

You at the show with Marty tomorrow? I am going near noon to see his seminar and meet him.

Skog, nice pics. I like going outside to have coffee too. Been watching your videos of the same, good times. Where do you get those little tins?

Skog,

Not at the show with Marty and I made a promise to myself earlier this year to get offline more. I'm in a two-day Filipino Martial Arts seminar with Tuhon Felix. I'm getting plenty of good bumps and bruises but it is sure fun as hell. Maybe we'll mess around with some rattan work in April if anyone is interested. Have a great time and tell adventure sworn to bring some blades for sale in April.

Good promise haha:thumbup:

Its all open end for the meet. We have no agenda whatsoever. Nothing like free flowing I say. A bit of martial training is always a good thing.

I will tell him.;)

Excellent stuff, guys! And I'll surely be bringing a knife or two to the meet! Looking forward to it very much so.
