Everyone, especially Thomas W,
I always bought blems becuase they were so cheap, until I realized that it would be hard to replace them later. With this in mind, I bought a shallot and a leek at the Blem sale. both were non blem. I was thinking about this and about the guy who posted about his blur that was marked wrong, but was not a blem, and I was wondering. since blems are refused warranty work, but new knives are happily accepted, will any knife that does not have the XXXX marking be accepted for work, or do you guys look all over to make sure that it is not a blem?

I hope that made sense.
Thanks
Steven

Makes sense to me, I dont know the answer 100% but it sounds like the knives sold with the wrong model number are still blems, they just didnt need to XXXX the blade since the blem was obvious.

Due to time restraints, a small portion of the blems sold at the sale didn't get marked with the common XXXX. If you bought one of those and it needs work...let your conscience be your guide.

The leek doesn't have scratches, nicks, dents, or anything to differentiate if from a new knife. I assumed it was overstock since it was a dealer exclusive. the shallot, however, rubs the blade with the liner. I will assume it is blem and proceed from there.

Make sure the body screws (the T-6 ones) are tightened down. When they get loose on my Shallot, the cover for the torsion bar separates a little and rubs against the blade. Could be the problem here... or it might just be because it's a blem.

No, looking at the pivot the blade is significantly closer to one side than the other. I understand why it is a blem. it leaves a scratch, but does not affect performance. I like the knife. without the pocket clip it disappears into my pocket and you would have to really look to see it.

Let me have a look at it over break. I'll see if I can tweak it for ya
