Like many of you I thought back and forth :indecisiveness: on that recently offered Super CAK. Fortunately for me though another forumite made something available and I could not ignore the siren song. Imagine something larger than a Super CAK
. It was quite a distraction that I simply could not pass up. Yes larger pieces exist but this one is quite respectable in its own right.
Back in 2004 Uncle Bill listed eight pieces of what he called the "Mother of all Ang Kholas". The statistics of the one I picked up are:
Chiruwa style Ang Khola by Sher
26.5 inches overall
74 oz (4 lbs 10 oz)
horn handle
brass bolster and pommel cap
For comparison note that the small CAK is 16.5" 29 oz and the Cherokee Rose is only 20" overall.
The Mother of all CAKs has a nice beefy handle to match.
Mother and her tools.
Love those fullers.
Usually I prefer wood handles but this horn handle has got some nice character to it.
A closer look at the blade.
Taking the long view. Quite nice and straight which is amazing to me for such a large piece.
At 74 ounces it is quite a handful held outward while shooting a grip picture.
So where are the other seven pieces of this gem? Sound off with pictures.
