Saturday morning, bright and early, I got the smoker running with some chicken breasts with Jamaican rub, followed later in the day with salmon on the top rack (the salmon didn't make it into the pic mix).

My 11yr-old son, Zach, taking a break from zombie patrol with his AR15 airsoft rifle, decided to whip up some tent stakes with his small Seb.

Meanwhile, I prepared my zombie rig for exercises later in the day.

Here's my small Seb in midnight tiger G10 (thanks, BarryH!) alongside my Son's. Notice the blade wear from use and resharpening on his. The fixed blade is one of my favorites, from Fox Cutlery in Italy (Buy Brown Kydex--thanks David!).

My Son heads to his post, as our guarddog Max remains vigilent in his efforts to discern deer from the undead.

My daughter Madeline watches from the east.

To the range. Mona and her Sister are the innocents, and must be protected at all costs. Even from splattered frangibles off steel plates as much as possible. War is hell.

Our outdoor and indoor attack cats. I once saw the male, Thomas, running across the yard with a decomposing ring finger in his mouth. Good boy.

Bella, our female Maine Coon, keeps an eye out indoors for unauthorized personnel, living or undead.

I'm not sure about you, but I prefer weekends at home. Sure, there was a bit of running kids here and there for soccer, etc., but all local travel thank goodness. Hope to have some more pics with CRK's getting down and dirty soon. Happy Monday!

Great pics Prof! All the ingredients for a stand out weekend right there

Prof - that's a good life you have there. Savor the moments, because they pass all to quickly. My oldest son is 11, too, loves his airsoft arsonal, and can't wait for our next camping trip. Good times.

He doesn't have a Sebenza yet, though. :o My bad.

I retired my 2002 edc and gave it to my Son a few years back. It's an excuse to edc another, and to buy another if need be ;).

I hear ya on time's flying by. I was fortunate to be able to work from home when my kids were younger. Now that I don't, I still see them about as much. They'll hit the teenage years and will run from fun weekends with Dad, but I'm confident they'll pass on a love of family down time, the outdoors, knives, and gunpowder to the next generation. Until then, I'll keep enjoying.

Looks like a good time. I am afraid for mine to grow, A) I will be much older, B) So will they:(:D

Great pics and times to remember. My oldest son is 6 and it is amazing how quick time flies by. Enjoy theese times, and i'm extremely jealous of the at home range, i'd love to be able to step out my door and just shoot.

Thanks all. Here's a few miscellaneous shots that didn't make the original cut (pun intended)...

My Daughter's blades, the custom made by a Lady (Audra Draper) for my Young Lady, and the other a Spydie Ladybug. Madeline loves purple. It warms the heart to see these being used. Check out the light pitting on that damascus:

And finally, my EDC among its siblings:

Best to all.
