Don't they look nicer when you actually use them?

Its a Spyderco Pacific Salt Black Blade Model.

What do you think?

That's one sexy Pacific Salt ;) The coating has held up quite well . . .

I'm never gonna buy a black coated blade ever again...

why?
i've never had a coated blade
i've read that there is a bit of extra resistance when cutting
true?
i cut a lot of food with my knives, is that a reason to say away from a black coated blade?

the knife looks awesome
i love the way, say, my black pvd coated watches look with wear

high quality goods patinate
low quality goods disintegrate

Something special about a knife that works to earn its keep.
Your knife exudes character:cool:

My black coated Emerson cqc 8 has some nice wear on the coating. Really looks nice along the spine.

dsandiego, I bought my first Spyderco, the C05, sometime in the mid 80s. 1984 would be my best guess. It is still a very fine working knife.

i love when you put a blade through hell and it just smiles at you every time...and then says give me more... :)

You should see how easy H1 scratches without a coating. My Pacific is full of battle scars. Luckily they buff out just as easy as they form. I have buffed mine out 3 or 4 times.
