I've always loved the shape of the kukri blade but found the HI and other more traditional style kukris to be somewhat ugly and generally too bulky in nature. I bought a cold steel SK 5 kuk and was impressed with how well it felt in hand and the thickness of the blade without being overly bulky. I thought it was the ultimate chopper...That was, until I discovered the Zilla
I got this guy about a month ago and have been extremely impressed with it. INFI's edge retention is amazing. I put a wicked mirror edge on it with the paper wheels and I have used it quite a bit since then and it's still very very sharp.
For me the sheath is every bit as important as the knife itself. I couldn't find any makers who provided a closed spine sheath but Azwelks open spine system works great. I ghetto rigged it for drop leg carry and added a rodent solution as a companion blade like the traditional kukri typically has. The setup is fantastic and between the Zilla, Solution and the RMD I carry on my bag there really Isn't any task you can't perform.
