oh man, that is a fine looking folder...

and Mr Winston is a fine gentleman to boot

I EDC a Denali. I couldnt ask for a better smoother finer knife to carry with me everyday. The fact that it is made by a fine gentleman makes it even better.

I love your pix!! All that colbalt blue glass is beautiful. I very much like that knife too.

How does it flip?

David makes a fantastic knife and is a great guy to boot, and I am proud to have him as one of my friends and one of my first knifemaking mentors!

Really, really clean work. That finish is ultra delicate. You have to treat it with kid gloves IF you are hanging onto it.

Dudley learned early-on the 'secret' to great knife photographs. I think it cost him about, ohhhhh, $75 dollars...? :p

Now that's a folder that appeals to me greatly. I prefer framelocks that either have bare handles, or have been fitted with scales on both sides of the handle. It gives the knife a more balanced look.

You should see one of these in person Keith, they are absolutely flawless and flip with just a touch of the finger!

I don't care too much for folders, but this one really appeals to me.

Very clean and well balanced photography of a beautiful,
clean and well balanced folder... :)

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

That is an extremely smooth looking design and nice blade shape. That cobalt glass has been "da bomb" amongst glass collectors.

Mr. Winston's framelocks look extremely well built. I've just recently become familiar with his knives and I'm surprised he is not mentioned more. Great finish on the blade as well.

Congrats and great pics!

David is not as well known as a lot of maker's, and he is probably the most underated knifemaker I know, but his work can stand up against the biggest names in the business, and it is quaility through and through!!

Thanks for all of the kind words and replies but I've got to chime in that this is the first of Mr. Winston's knives that I, too, have had the IMMENSE PLEASURE of handling and it is absolute perfection in a frame-lock flipper.

The action, fit, finish, attention to detail, etc., is beyond reproach.....about as good as it gets, IMHO. He uses roller thrust bearings on the sides of the blade/pivot and the deployment and lock-up are world-class.

I guess his list is becoming longer each and every day but it'd sure be worthwhile to hop on, to my notion! ;)

Having not had the privilege to see this in person I can say that your description seems evident even in photographs.
Extremely balanced and clean in design and execution. Truly stunning work.
And great photography too. Thanks for that effort.
