As most of you already know, I`ve started offering both 154CM and CPMS30V as stainless options on my knives. Both of these steels will be heat treated in my new Evenheat oven, using methods from over a years research, and input from makers I highly respect. But, after giving it lots of thought, I will continue heat treating my O1 blades using what mqqn calls my K Treet Process, which makes for some of the toughest blades out there. It takes more work, and time, but the results produce a knife that will handle anything (except outdoorsfan with a sledgehammer and steel pipe ;))

K Treet rocks.

Sounds like a fantastic decision to me. I love the steel we've always gotten from you. If it works don't fix it.

A note about the steel pipe incident. There's a few key points to understand:

1) The knife was not the only one who got hammered that night.
2) I have such a high regard for JK O1 that I actually thought it would work.
3) See #1.

:)

I still think JK O1 is one of the toughest steels out there.

John, would you consider making one of this year's Anniversary knives in stainless? I'm thinking that Karen would love one for the kitchen.

… and while we are talking about it - I bet your K treated O1 would make an exceptional throwing knife. Care to make some sets? No scales just eased edge steel handles on well balanced blades with dagger like shape?

I like throwing knives from the handles - so for me, these could be sharpenable both edges up a few inches if not all the way. I'm thinking about 7" to 9" OA length but I need to think on that a bit. Other opinions???

Not sure how I missed this. Of course I would!

Good stuff. I'll email the particulars but perhaps getting on the early November list would be perfect for me.

I made one for a gathering once, it was a dud. I think most guys have them water jet cut so they are exactly the same.

Did a double here. 60 seconds goes by faster than I thought!
