This is a compilation of pictures and videos I finally finished with editing. I hope you guys like it.

A special thank you to the Thorburns for their hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed the visit and learned a great deal.

More of his knives can be seen on my youtube for those who want to see more of his pieces.

Thank you for the brief tour  A lot of beautiful pieces there.

I am curious if you have any closer shots of the tangs - it looked like there was a lot of complex milling/cutting present there that i don't quite understand...

I will have a look for you if I have one but yes there is a large amount of milling and cutting for the hidden stop pin and IKBS system.

Andre and I had a long conversation about why he does all the milling, in short it creates a better product for the customer. He deals with tolerances between 0.01 - 0.1 mm on the different contact surfaces of the bearings if I remember correctly.

His knives are smooth and solid. As you would expect from a maker like this.

I had a look and did not have any pictures of the milled out area, but I can tell you this, it is milled slots for the IKBS balls so that there is no need for the IKBS to wear in any grooves as can be seen here:

Visited Andre again to discuss a future order and here is some of the things he has been working on for the New York show and orders.

I made a visit to Andre Thorburn today. Some knives are for dealers, some are orders and some will be on his table.

I will hopefully upload a video tomorrow since I forgot my cable at home but as soon as I have it done I will post it here but it shows a lot of the knives in hand open and closed.
