Good morning

Thought i would share these folders from A Wright i recently received

The first 3 i shared in an earlier post in one of the existing Wright threads

The next 4 were all purchased in a second order

For myself the quality on these is perfecctly acceptable The fit and finish is good with no gaps or cracks

Most open nice but 2 are stiffish openers
Most have spots where the brass liners extend past the stag
2 of the 7 have blades that lean a bit when open and 2 of the 7 have mismatched thick/thin scales

None of the above mentioned defects put me off but for many that may be good to know

Congrats ! Interesting that the first two LF have swedges but not in the second group .

Here's mine with a GEC 73. It was sold as Père David antler, but it's very grooved and it could actually be Sambar. Since dyed it with Tea so it's a fair bit darker now. Solid strong knife with no 'issues' This was from about 2018.

Look like practical everyday general purpose blade shapes for the most part. The pruner/florist blade being the only "specific task" blade.
(Since peeling a critter isn't something most do every day (exception: a slaughterhouse skinner, or a successful professional fur trapper), that task does not fall under "everyday" use. While a LF/SH blade can do that task (with extreme care), they are not the best suited. Something with a belly is ever so much better and easier for peeling a critter.)

The scissor look like it is good for flower garden and sewing room duty. 👍

A great collection. 😁👍

Great looking knives, I'm not a fan of excessive downward cant myself. It can be "fixed" to various degrees, but it IS a gamble. 20221215_100253.jpg
You can use a diamond needle file to file this area, DO NOT USE a dremel!! Take very little material off and check often, one file stroke to much and you'll ruin the knife

If you notice the mainspring is a bit longer than the blade tang, you can use a small square needle file to file it as well. But the same rules apply, maybe more so. I have done this, thankfully this RR doesn't need it. I have also adjusted a blade in the opposite direction by peening the blade in the aforementioned location, but that's another subject altogether.

I will also add I've worked with my hands all my life in metal fabrication, mechanics and carpentry. Some things are very intuitive to me and I have a "knack" for them. Cavet emptor.
