Here is one going to Norway and made from phosphoric wrought iron and some damascus I made with a friend who visited my shop recently. Just some 20 layer and a couple of twists. 14.5" OAL, 9" blade. Elk, yew and wrought iron fittings. The blade was fit to the elk by burning through in a traditional manner. I love the banding in the wrought caused by alternating layers of high phosphorus and low phosphorus.

Scott, very interesting piece! The spacer in the center of the handle, is that wrought? Does the file work pattern have any meaning?

Thanks folks... Yeah Steve... It's wrought.. and it means.. NOTHING. But it reminds me of the simple runic script I once saw on ancient road markers in the British Isles. For those not in the know.... even though this is going to a fellow in Norway.. it is actually for a Saxon style seax.. with the broken back shape. Saxon = Sax = Seax

How much would a knife like that cost for a Viking from the north with real viking blood in his veins? ;)
I've been looking for a real good seax, just I want it a little longer.

Thanks again folks...

lp...I was going to PM you with commission details but you don't have contact info. Feel free to check out my website and send me an email if you would like to discuss work.
