A Year in the wilderness

I remember watching this back in highschool. Can't remember what for, but it's just as cool now, if not more so.

Now that's what I call a real "patron saint".

I swear I found more "religion" from that short video imagining what it was like to be in his shoes than I have at a church with some priest with a sermon and ritual.

The link is dead - copywrite violation :grumpy:

Which one was this? Can somebody that watched it link to more info?

Dick Proenneke was the name. Still a few videos on the tube, and I'm sure more info with a google search.

One very cool thing about the video (the full one) is that he was able to capture a wolverine on film. Now as I understand it, aside from being the North American equivalent of the Africa's "badass" honey badger for its ferocity, it's actually a very elusive animal. I read that even people who spend long periods of time out in the wilderness might never come across it.

This was one of the best films I've watched in a long, long time. I really enjoyed it. Thankyou very much for posting. As a builder I especially enjoyed the carpentry with handtools, fantastic!!!
