So as i stated in the 2008 NGK Road Trip thread, my haul from my birthday included a ZT200. Well the day after the trip i had all of my blades out and i started changing the clips for tip-up carry and in the process i managed to break the screws on both the ZT0200 and the small ENER-G. So a quick email to thomas about my trip and a request for screws and my odyssey began.

My first adventure came while waiting for my screws. About two days in i lost the baggie with my clips in it. I put it in a place where i wouldn't lose it, and i immediately lost it. Go Figure. So the screws came and i had to turn right around and email thomas asking for clips.

Thomas was on the road for a while and in the interim i emailed dawn figuring i should at this point be asking the CS dept for parts and not the national sales manager. Dawn replied super quick and sent clips out. A day later thomas responded that clips were in the mail. By the end of the week i had 4 of each pocket clip and about 100 extra screws.

The Small ENER-G went in without a hitch, but after stripping 6 consecutive sets of 200 screws i decided it wasn't me but rather the liner that the screws attach to. At this point i debated my ability to replace the parts. i've done alright with my ZDP cyclone taking it apart and replacing torsion bars and regular cleaning, but i always find that the knife isn't the same as before i took it apart.

I asked dawn what she thought would be the better course of action from a turnaround standpoint and we decided to ship out a new handle.

To make an insanely long story shorter. The handle came today and i was able to change the position of the clip and attach the new one without much trouble and now i can start carrying it and giving it the workouts it truly deserves.

unfortunately i didn't take any pics of the process but i still have the extra parts if people wanna see pics of those.

i would like to say thanks to thomas and to dawn for sticking with me and allowing me to get the most from this amazing knife. +1 for amazing service!!!!!

I'm glad it has a happy ending. All my parts usually roll off the table onto the floor and the ones Roz the lab doesn't immediately eat roll way back under the fridge...

Are you talking about knives with the above?

not sure what he is going on about.....never am :)....

anyways, im bumping this because i finally was able to put the 200 to good use last night. i was at a different store than i usually work helping a friend clean out their remote storage facility and i thought with the amount of crap stuck back there it might be nice to have something a little beefier and more rugged as backup for this adventure. sure enough this knife got to stretch its legs and like all the others who have posted before about it: this is one heck of a user!

it simply made mincemeat out of old thick corrugate most cut to avoid the copper staples people like to leave in. another more interesting test is the thick, but not dense foam used to pack objects into the boxes we use for things. if the knive isn't insanely sharp the blade will snag as soon as it hits the foam but this baby just kept cutting and cutting like butter.

lastly, and don't cringe cause nothing happened. we were removing an illuminated display at the end of the evening but the power cord was stuck under the door to the room and it was closed and alarmed already, so rather than put the beast down and deal with the cord i simply flipped open the 200 and in one effortless motion produced a completely clean cut through the cord. i checked the blade for dents or anything afterwards and it was completely unfazed.

props to all you guys for thinking up one of the ultimate users. well done!
