A136
[/h] This is a custom knife model from way back in the Pre-Tac days. It is a sleek stylish design that looks so good it's hard to believe it's over 25 years old. I won a best in show award for this model when I first showed it.
The ECA A136 features a slender, graceful, spearpoint blade, stonewashed finished and fitted into a tear drop shaped, tan, coarse G-10 handle, the knife features a sturdy .090 thick titanium liner lock and it cuts just as good as it looks. Try it. You'll like it.

Well, mine arrived today. I placed the order on the 21st, and got it on the 23rd. I've been lusting after this knife ever since I saw pics of it, and missed out on a couple of the sale threads but still kept a look out for it and even went so far as to post WTB threads on a few forums. I decided to call up Emerson and ask about it, and they had 5 in stock ! So I joined the ECA and bought one. I got #31 as it was the lowest number available. Here are my pics. So stoked!

The handle & blade are longer than that of the 7:

The locking liner is also much thicker (even thicker than that of my Journeyman, but not pictured)

I always thought that the A136 was a really nice knife design. Basically Emerson's A100 with a wave. I also must say that the plain edge version looks MUCH better than the partially serrated version.

Yeah, I think the Gentleman Jim and the A-100 came out of this. It's amazing that the design is over almost 30 years old (circa mid-80's) as Ernie mentioned in his ECA blog.

That is a sweet knife. If I hadn't just gotten in trouble for buying too many knives I'd be calling Emerson to see if I could get one of the remaining knives. Consider me jealous.

Jealous. Would love to get my grubby paws on one. I think I might like a bit more choil, but could be wrong of course. OK, gotta' think of something else...
