Wassup everybody?!!
Just wanted to get your guys' take on A2 Steel ?? what do you guys' think of it?? How does it hold up in harsh conditions, and extreme destruction testing?? Is it as good as like S7, 1095, S30, etc...??? Would anyone recommend it?? Need some help!! I'm about to buy a custom piece made up of the A2 Steel and I just don't know enough about steel yet. So Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

I can't tell you any specifics, but I did a lot of research on it, and there are several advantages to it. It's suppose to be tougher than D2, and takes a keener edge, but it's not as stain resistant as D2. I think it's suppose to be easier to sharpen, but may not hold an edge quite as long as D2. With that said, I don't think the average person will notice it loosing it's edge any faster. I just bought a Hogue EX-F01 designed by Eleshiwitz, and I got to believe if he thinks it's a good steel, then it probably is. I believe it's a fine steel for a good working blade.

Ck this link out http://zknives.com/knives/articles/knifesteelfaq.shtml scroll down about half way down, and you'll find what your looking for.

I have a number of knives running from hte simple 440 to a Damasicus and I have always been happy with the A2. I have found that I needed to take care of it and my BRTK Gunny does show a bit if discoloration, but is as sharp now as it was the day I bought it. My BRKT Bravo 2, used more for chopping hs begun to loose its edge, but this has been after quite a bit of chopping.

Therefore, I would say go for it in the custom knife.
