A2

Hi,
I have worked with A-2 in a machine shop and found that when milling and drilling with to many RPMs it will work harden. It will help when you use a cutting/drilling/tapping fluid. I hope this info helped you.
99 persent of my knives are A-2 so I can't compare it to D-2. I am allways looking for a cheaper source do you know any?
 
I have never used A2 and am not sure how it compares with D2 in edge retention. I can't say about the prices from different sources.
