Got a phone call from my wife yesterday: "Honey, I think we may have a small problem...." The #@**%!!! guy who came to pump out our septic tank ran over the wood blocking my press was sitting on causing the above carnage........
As far as I can tell, it looks pretty intact. Won't know till I get it hoisted back on its feet...... Send prayers ( for the press, and the septic guy....he's liable to need them  )

PS: Anybody got a good sniper rifle I could borrow for the weekend
Just kidding,........Honest......No really I mean it............He promised to help me get it back up....Just not sure I really want to meet this guy in person right now :grumpy:
I'll let you know how it turns out......

That "ain't a good picture".........Thoughts are with the "Press", and prayers go out to the dude who "done-it".

I hate it when that kind of stuff happens.........Makes your A$$ just want to suck a lemon.

Hope no damage was done (to the press that is..........)

MAN!!,That really sucks!!! I hope there is no lateral twist or bend.Doesn't look good to me from the photo.Unless you got a moonlighting pumper,he is insured (required in most states).I think I would order a brand new unit and have him pay the charges directly to the maker - in advance. If the old one can be repaired later, good,if not use the parts to make a horizontal press.

"A friend" suggests a Remington 700 SPS in 7mm Rem Magnum. Top it off with a Redfield 3X9 50mm scope. Technique is most important, so says my friend.

yeah i got a sniper rifle you can borrow i use it to blow up squirels at 1000+ yards you point and it goes there

but man that blows i would be seriously kick that guys ^&^*&)&^)*(*())_)(&(^ butt and makin him pay to have a toe truck come out and upright it just cuz i hat hernias and ohhh by the way make sure you tell him and his company that any and all damage to the press they are liable for well unless you signed a waiver like most companies make you do now

anyways death to the crappy truck driver i am one by perfession and i have never and i mean never done crap like that

Oh crap Ed! I guess we gotta move that thing again, huh? I'll bring up my 8mm, it's meant for people like that (though I'm sure he really didn't mean it).

I do agree with the above though, have him pay the fair-market-value of that one or buy you a new press. I hear Ron's will just squeeze a finished knife right out.

Ed you're a good guy and I know you'll handle the situation with grace and dignity.

If it were me people would be covering their ears. Good luck dude, I'm sure it will turn out just fine.

~I haven't forgotten about the wrought iron, I'll get some out to you in the near future :).

Thanks for the support and the suggestions! I've got some people coming over tomorrow and will see if we can't stand the beast back up. I'm hoping it just works fine......Don't really wan't to have to try and get this guy to buy me something unless Its seriously broken. Don't need the hassel if I can help it.

Ed, I have a good squirrel rifle you can use! We had a guy back a moving truck into my driveway Tuesday. We are having our son's stuff moved to him. Anyhow, I just happened to still be home, luckily. He backed up to my shop and I hollered just in time. His trailer was right against the side of my 2 year old shop and roof by the time I got him stopped. I hope your press is OK, fella.

John, glad you caught him in time. Well, I didn't get the help I was hoping for this weekend, so its till out there on its side. Farnkly I don't think I'm going to get it back up short of a chain hoist or a back hoe..... Kind of depressed about it. I hate it when I have something that I can't do myself. :grumpy:
I'll have to start calling around......
Ed

I don't care what his excuse is, he's a business man who damaged your property. He must pay to restore it to it's former position, or his insurance company must pay. It's a simple liability issue. He knows what he does and if he couldn't do his job safely without you moving your press, then he should have turned down the job until he had safe access (and you moved your press out of the way). The liability is all on him.

I thought I had posted a conclusion to this saga, but I guess I forgot. The guy had some friends come over and between the lot of us we got it back up on its feet. No damage. Works fine. Now all I gotta do is find some time to play with it. All spare time these days is going into building the barn to house it.
Thanks for asking. Happy ending after all. It was good to have a place to vent about it though. PRobably saved me from going off on him over the phone which wouldn't have helped anything....
