Can anyone help me?

I'm trying to switch handles on my endura 4 to my endura 4 wave and the very last torx screw has stripped and is stuck... it seems impossible to get out any tips / solutions?

p.s. torx screws are dumb

Since torx driver edges are kind-of sharp, you could try taking the next size up torx and jamming it in the stripped screw. This will ruin the screw even more and you definitely won't be able to use it again, but at least you might be able to get it out.

I'll try.

Seriosuly, why can't Spyderco just use a phillips instead of the easily stripped torx?

No luck.

FFFFUUUUUUUU-

Torx screws are very hard to strip if you are using the correct driver.

Then I must have rotten luck, it's more pitted than a pro surfer at this point. I guess I have no choice but to send it back to Spiderco thanks for the help Nikz.

Try superglue on a cheap torx driver head. Let it set up, then try to back the screw out

That should work. If not, you can always try to grab a hold of the edge with some pliers. If you're careful you can back it out far enough that you can get it the rest of the way with your fingers. Just don't scratch up the scales.

Your knife could have screws from a bad batch that are too soft. Call Spyderco and let them know and they'll probably send you a bag of new screws.

I've already given up and am currently rewarding my failure with a beer. I think I may just take the easy way out and send it to Spyderco.

Thanks for the help guys :)

torx are quite hard to strip w/ correct size bit.

problem is that torx heads will happily accept a half-size smaller bit and then SEEM to engage

Exactly.

In reality, TORX heads are designed not to strip while philips heads are designed to strip out.

No, no, don't give in yet. YOU can beat the screw! I guess you have the #7 torx driver? If so, you will need to lay the knife on a flat surface, stand over it, and apply some downward force to the driver. Twist the screw slowly while applying that downward pressure. You only need to break it loose and then you should be able to back it on out. Something else to consider is that it may have loctite on the threads that is binding it. Try boiling the knife for 5 to 8 minutes, yep boiling, and then do the above steps at that time. Let us know when you have acheived victory.

Sounds like a way to fix the situation, or at least relieve the stress.
