Excuse me, but I gotta rant!
I ordered two Assault Shakers some time ago - one for myself and the other one for a fellow knife knut.
They finally arrived yesterday in Copenhagen Airport, was picked up by customs and handed over to the police!
I got a call from an officer who 'just wanted to hear what the intended use was and if I had a permit for these "restricted weapons" so he wouldn't have to charge me for anything!'
Now, this is Denmark and pretty much anything regarding knives is against the law, but it's perfectly legal for a citizen over 18 years of age to buy and own a fixed blade under 12 cm. (4,7") without having any kind of permit.
Anyway, the officer was OK to talk to, but he had very little insight into danish knifelaws and continued to ask me if I had a cause to have them (which I do not need to have).
I told him I went fishing, hiking, climbing, whatever.
He checked me for any criminal records and of course didn't find any.
He concluded the converstation with saying, that he didn't see any problems and would send them asap if no other problems popped up.
He calls me half an hour later, saying that I need to fill out a form permitting the police to basically confiscate the knives until they can find out if I am permitted to keep them or not!
This will of course take "quite a bit of time, for which he was sorry!"
As Kassi mentioned in an e-mail, she had heard some pretty off the wall stories about different countries' customs and Busse knives.
Well, here's another one!
Damn....I was so looking forward to getting my first Busse and now I have to put up with this crap....
Anyway, I'd better talk to Dirk next time I order a Busse!
Thanks for listening!
Bo
Edited because of poor memory and bad splelling!
