Ever since AT&T bought out SBCYahoo or whatever was done between them it seems like I've had trouble with their Internet Service! :mad: Originally my service originated from their main terminal downtown and because I kept having trouble with it AT&T moved my service to a Remote Terminal not far from my place. Since then I've been down more often than I was when the service was downtown.
My service has been mostly down for the last four days and I had withdrawal pains bad the first day!
I talked with a Level 1 Tech Support guy earlier today and he said the service should be restored by this evening and that I would get a call, I didn't....:rolleyes: :grumpy: but I thought I would try to get online one more time before I shut down for today and here I am,:thumbup: but we'll see for how long this time.
So in order to keep from going completely insane and to take the edge of the Internet Withdrawal Pains I've been tuning up my PC which is the upside of the situation as I can't believe how fast it's moving around now, almost like it was brand new as I'm back up to 80% free space on my hard drive!:thumbup: :D

I had Cingular for my cell. When ATT&T took over I saw an immediate decrease in reception quality. Dropped calls all over the place. What is the world coming to when you can't trust ATT&T?

It'll be a happy day for me when I can disconnect AT&T,everytime a telemarketer calls me it breaks the connection on my dsl(damn slow line).

Bro we haven't had any problems with our old Nokia doing that but it doesn't mean it can't or won't happen.:rolleyes: :grumpy:
We're also on a very antiquated program in that we have 250 anytime minutes and thousands of night & weekend minutes for $30.00 a month.;) :)

TW, now that would really tick me off! :mad:
I very briefly saw an ad on TV the other day that said (I think) that Cox Cable was offering a TV cable and Internet service together but I have yet to check into it to see if it's true or not but I will.
And if it is indeed true and at the price I think I heard as well and hopefully as fast or faster than my DSL Line then I'll probably go ahead and change it over. Cable Internet Service is supposed to be really fast and if so my downloading time should really escalate!:thumbup: :D

it'd be nice if every time a telemarketer called, the dsl line would break their connection. maybe you could suggest that to your isp.

I like the idea. When I move I'm not having a phone in my room. No one but the telemarketers call me anyway.

Don't forget to defrag that drive, run defrag several times, might pick up some more speed.

Thanks Jim.:thumbup: :)
That's just one of the things I did, downloaded IOBits Defrag program that defrags Winders in about half the time and ran it until the report came back with zero files fragmented.:thumbup: :cool: :D
I also managed to get rid of all but two of the AVG anti-virus files in the Registry as well, along with lots of junk files and that's what gave me back so much of the free space on on my C drive;
