So I look up cattaraugus knives, and find that case now owns the TM. This cannot be the right knife (that everybody talks about), so I found a site that has a bunch of them- jaysknives.com. The first on display is a horse knife, but it's 239! Man, I hate being poor-that's waaay out of my range right now. Bummer.

Plenty of the old classic Catts around at cheaper prices. I found one last year- beautiful little gem- at a flea market for $5. Frequently on that brand, only the last section of the name is visible on the tang, in the familiar arc, so you can read just: 'raugus'. Excellent condition knives are great to find- tough to pay for, but you can still afford to own an example of these if you set your sites slightly lower.
Note: AG Russell for a while owned this brand. Some knife manufacturers barter brand names back and forth like we do pocket knives.
