I just received this beautiful Scagel style Hunter/Skinner from Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn. I've been concentrating more on Hunters in my collecting as of late.
This piece is crazy sharp and perfect IMO for a big game skinner, especially if you have a larger hand. Aaron, meticulously combined sambar stag, stacked leather and ramhorn
to create this beautiful and functional handle.

The blade is 52100 alloy steel, differently heat-treated and cryogenically treated between temper cycles with a nice temper line. Aaron also made the beautiful leather sheath with a
tooled basket weave pattern and alligator skin trim.

Handle - sambar stag, stacked leather and ramhorn with nickel silver and red fiber spacers
Blade – 52100
Guard & fileworked Buttcap – wrought iron
OAL – 9-3/4” (248MM)
BL – 4-7/8” (124MM)

Thank you in advance for your views and comments.

I saw this one on instagram. I love the combination of materials, colors and textures. Nice score Kevin!

That's a great looking piece, it's hard for me to see but is that a wrought iron end cap? Looks beautifully done.

Yes,gorgeous knife and sheath, I love it.

Aaron's one of my favourite knife makers, I like pretty much everything I've seen of his

Very nice. I am not drawn that style handle but doesn't matter, its well done. I like the blade shape. Reminds me of Ed Fowlers blades and Karl Anderson does one like that which I like very much.

Excellent!

I agree with Mr. Jon the blade has the Fowler influence!

Great execution and love the way all those different materials come together in one knife and sheath. =)

Yep Jon, seems kinda Scagel and Fowler inspired, with the blade shape, 52100 and sheephorn.
When I think of big game skinners, Ed's knives immediately come to mind, this knife has a similar feel to it.
