I was some how attracted by the looks of the energizer double barrel.
i clames to be brighter due to parallel
but one thing is that i can find a store thats sells spare for it
and how bright is that??(the 8/6 AA)
compare to the maglights???

I have a 8 AA model Eveready Double barrel, it's an older model. They may have changed things as I see they are in new packaging.

But I am not impressed with the one I have, the switch is fussy, the battery cradles are a PIA, the little knobs are difficult to tighten or loosen when changing batteries. On the good side they batteries do last a long time, longer than any other AA flashlight I've tried.

I haven't tried to find a bulb for it, but you probably can write Everady and they'd fix you up.

I have come full circle for 2AA flashlights. I have tried the Princeton Tec, Tec-20; Pelican, MityLite Magnum and Streamlight, ProPolymer. They are all excellent lights. But I went back to MagLite's Mini-Mag in 2AA. I like it's versatility and size to light output/runtime.

For 4AA I really like the Pelican Stealthlite. For the same reasons as the Mini-Mag. The Princeton Tec, Tec-40 is a close runner up because it uses a PR base bulb.

I have not bought a Energizer DoubleBarrel. Nor have I seen one in use.
